Straight Ahead
"Blues Women in the Twentieth Century" showcases all the great ladies of blues such as Mahalia, Billie, Aretha and many more with historical information and humor. Straight Ahead also perform their signature concert which combines all the elements of jazz into their own blend of traditional, transitional and contemporary jazz. These five women, widely recognized for their eclectic and soulful approach to creating music, move their sound comfortably from mainstream jazz to R&B ballads, avant-garde to Brazilian funk. Their live performances are a joyful celebration.
